A bit of a break
It feels a bit weird to even be writing this post because the ol’ blog isn’t something I’ve really dedicated a whole lot of time to, quite obviously or this whole post would be void, so I’m not really sure anyone has actually missed me. But I have a few blogposts I want to put up in the coming weeks and it seems odd to do that without addressing why I’ve left this corner of the internet to slowly die.
In the last three weeks I’ve finished university for the second time ever (I used to study architecture which is a whole other story in itself), met a handful of crazy client deadlines and half committed myself to trying to make this crazy passion of mine a full time career. I say half committed as I work part time, because you know rent and affording to eat are a minor priority. In the past I was creating a weekly Pits & Peaks blog post to motivate me to keep writing each week but after an 8 hour shift each Sunday sitting down to write the best and worst parts of my week was really the last thing on my mind, and to be completely honest the worst parts were consistently dealing with shitty customers.
I’m also unconvinced that my life is interesting enough to warrant a weekly update so I’m going to be putting Pits & Peaks on hold (unless there’s a massive outcry from the one person that reads this – hi mum) and dedicate my time to creating blogposts and content I’m *hopefully* proud of.
As a ‘creative’ I’m finding there’s not a whole lot of information out there to help with starting your own business, juggling work and deadlines, how to charge, how not to be taken advantage of and the like. While I’m not in a position to be giving expert advice I thought I could use my blog to help others navigate through this, all while I do it too.
I mean no doubt I’ll also use my blog to show off my work, and justify buying new clothes and makeup too.
Anyway, that’s the update from my corner of the world. I’m excited but mildly terrified to be chasing this passion of mine, but I hope you’ll stick along for the journey.
Till next time
